As I sit here reflecting about Remys recent seizure cluster, a thought has overwhelmed me. Epilepsy isn't just an inconvenience to be managed. It's a disease that kills 50,000 people every year in the US alone. If epilepsy were a form of cancer, it would be the second leading cause of death among cancers, even ahead of breast cancer. Yet, epilepsy research receives a just a tiny fraction of the funding that other less deadly diseases receive.
We have seen Remy through thousands of seizures and she is only 3 years old. Just one seizure like Remys would knock out even the strongest of people and yet Remy has them over and over and over. The only thing we can do is give her medication and oxygen and hope that this seizure wont be the one that takes her life.
If you or someone you know is looking for a way to make a year end tax- deductible gift (and at the same time make a difference in the life of Remy and other girls), would you consider PCDH19 Alliance?
All donations are 100% tax deductible and go directly to the organization to fund research and find better treatment.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping Remy meet the goal for PCDH19 Alliance
